Residence Manager

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Community, including staff oversight, marketing, dining service, building maintenance and resident services. Assures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and Community policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring the Community meets financial objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have an Associate’s Degree or a high school diploma/ GED and 2 years experience working in a licensed personal care home or other healthcare-related setting. Must enjoy working with older adults. Must have supervisory experience. Experience providing residential care to the elderly preferred.

  1. Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective supervisory skills with the ability to direct the work of others.

  2. Desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.

  3. Ability to recognize and address problems appropriately.

  4. Good communication skills and the ability to relate to the public, residents, families, staff, and other professionals appropriately.

  5. Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of accurate records and provide information as requested and/or required.

  6. Knowledge of and ability to ensure the Community conforms to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and Community-specific policies and procedures.

  7. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job and to be on-call.

  8. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, yet respond well to direction and guidance.

  9. Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate for elderly residents.

  10. Good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.

  11. All general staffing requirements:

  • Free of communicable disease

  • Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance

  • Criminal record clearance

  • Current CPR Certification

  • Current First-Aid certification

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • General understanding of the needs of the elderly

  • Willingness to learn

  • Flexibility with schedule - must be willing to work some weekends and evenings

  • Ability to work a full shift, come to work on time and work overtime as needed

  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to residents, families, staff, vendors and general public
