Resident Programs Coordinator


Position Summary: 

Responsible for planning and organizing individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual interests, needs and abilities of residents. Communicates available programs to residents and encourages participation.


Reports to:  

Residence Manager


Minimum Education and Experience:


Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience. Experience in conducting group activities and experience in working with the elderly preferred.




  1. Enjoy working with the elderly; relate well to seniors.

  2. Able to lead and motivate people; excellent interpersonal skills.

  3. Good planning, time management and organizational skills.

  4. Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing.

  5. Self-starter; able to carry out diverse duties with minimal supervision.

  6. Enjoy thinking of new ideas - is energetic, fun loving, creative and resourceful.

  7. Good computer skills.

  8. Professional appearance and attitude.

  9. Hold a valid driver’s license of the appropriate type and a driving record which meets the Community insurance standards.

  10. All general staffing requirements:

  • Free of communicable disease

  • Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance

  • Criminal record clearance

  • Current CPR Certification

  • Current First-Aid certification

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • General understanding of the needs of the elderly

  • Willingness to learn

  • Flexibility with schedule - must be willing to work some weekends and evenings

  • Ability to work a full shift, come to work on time and work overtime as needed

  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to residents, families, staff, vendors and general public
